Poor little hermit crab.
For so many years,
Shrunk withdrawn in his house.
Too cautious to look out,
For the past traumas experienced.
So he hides inside his shell,
Head low down, hidden away.
Just two tentative claws,
To guide him along.
Then he sticks out his head,
And finds the view not that bad,
A shining sun and a pretty vista.
And blissfully happy,
Asks why he had hid.
And just as he thinks,
He likes the sun after all,
Along come the prods and the jabs.
So head ducking back in,
He hides once more hurt.
Will that crab ever learn,
That the sun's not for him,
And he's just better staying at home,
In his cosy little shell .
